Dr. Felicia Vulcu (2017)
One of my favourite courses at McMaster, the professor, Felicia Vulcu, is one of the best profs in the department and is incredibly caring and reasonable. The course consists of 2 written and multiple choice tests, three presentations, participation marks and weekly electronic lab notebooks. There is no final which is great because it is a full year course. Felicia is very reasonable with giving extensions and alternate test dates, and the lab mentors (TAs) are super helpful. The toughest part of the assessments was probably the questioning period at the end of each presentation, and the fact that there are a lot of assessments worth a small amount. Overall loved the course and found it easy to succeed in.
Dr. Felicia Vulcu (Fall 2018 & Winter 2019)
Felicia is the kindest human being on earth and she care so much about you as a person. The tests are honestly not bad at all if you pay attention in classes and labs (you barely need to write down notes for class). You get put in a group of 6 in the lab for group projects and that was really fun for me as well! These get marked slightly harder so you need to be extra prepared (have supplemental research and slides!) and practice these presentations.
Textbook: Required, Helpful
Methods of Evaluation: Tests, Lab Reports, Group Projects
