Try not to rely on the final exam for high marks. Do well on the quizzes they add up.

Take your time to really go through the practice midterms he posts. He makes the practices ones while making the actual midterm so you can get a hint of what is going to be on the actual midterm. They are all multiple choice, so make sure to understand why an answer is correct and WHY THE OTHER OPTIONS ARE WRONG. He often likes to change one word in the question of the actual midterm so a different option from the practice is the answer.

I actually enjoyed this course a lot; will say though, this isn’t a common sentiment in my cohort. Prof records his lectures, and they’re honestly worth going back and listening (that’s how I did well in the course). Print the slides and fill them; not worth copying off of the slides because he puts a lot of derivations and useless equations; highlight what’s important and write down additional information. The actual lecture (the first time) can go over your head (not gonna lie) but the iClickers are what keep you in class. TAKE THE QUIZZES SERIOUSLY as they add up (if you do well on the first 30 you can ignore the last 10, saving you stress later). Kruse is good at explaining things one-on-one; awkward as heck but one of the better profs in second year chembio. Interesting if you enjoy chemistry and don’t mind physics; if you don’t like either, it’s not worth your time.
