Physics 1A03: Introductory Physics

< Back

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Essentially just a review of grade 11 and 12 physics. If you are very comfortable with high school physics, then this course will not be challenging at all. The course has no physics prerequisite, so those who have never taken physics in high school will still do well. This course satisfies the physics requirement for first year Life Science students, but if you are interested in pursuing a physics program (ie Honours Physics, Honours Medical and Biological Physics, Honours Astrophysics), you should take Physics 1C03, as it better prepares you for future physics courses.

After taking grade 12 physics, this course was extremely easy, vast majority of the content was review from high school. Many of my classmates who didn’t take high school physics struggled or found the content difficult to grasp. Lectures have iClicker questions that are for participation only and labs are easy to get perfect in. The final lab is an assignment where you make a video at home and submit it online, so consider video topics as you cover content in the course.
