Dr. Gregory Cousins (Fall, 2020)

Great course overall, Dr. Cousins kept the content engaging — very fun for a first year math course.

Textbook: Required, Helpful

Methods of Evaluation: Assignments, Projects, Discussion Posts, Group Projects, Quizzes

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Textbook – You will have to buy it, there are mandatory readings with questions based on the textbook every week, as well as regular homework assignments based on problems in the textbook. Overall – Math 1C03 is a VERY different way of thinking about math, nothing similar is taught in high school (except IB and maybe AP), this does make the course very interesting though! Everything will seem to move way too fast in the course, when you are studying, make sure you slow down and read every question and example carefully. The course is VERY useful for future math courses, where you will be expected to write out proofs. Definitely NOT an easy course, you should be present at every lecture and tutorial and try to soak up as much practice as possible.
